Green Diamond Receives Recertification Under SFI Program
Green Diamond Resource Company's timberlands in Northern California were recently recertified under the American Forest & Paper Association's Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI).
During the certification audit by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, the assessors identified several practices considered to be above average and commended the operation on its exemplary policies, plans, and systems for protecting rare, threatened and endangered species.
The auditors also noted Green Diamond's support of research directed at obtaining a better understanding of species likely to be sensitive to forest management, and the use of the research to revise their Habitat operational policies.
