Certification - Washington

In June 2006 Green Diamond Resource Company's Northwest Timberlands were recertified under the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI). The recertification covers 440,015 acres of the company's timberland in Western Washington and Oregon.

The independent audit firm Bureau Veritas Certification (BVQi) conducted the renewal audit to ensure that Green Diamond's forest management operations met or exceeded all performance measures specified in the SFI 2005-2009 Standard.

No areas of non-compliance were found, and BVQi recommended that Green Diamond's Northwest forestry operations be awarded immediate certification. In fact, the auditors cited several "notable practices" that they deemed "exemplary." Among those cited were:
